The professional association brings together people working or studying in youth work, the voluntary sector and sport. Members include community educators, social services graduates and sports professionals in public bodies, parishes, NGOs and self-employment. It belongs to Akava Special Branches.
Membership includes umbrella organisation benefits, accident and travel insurance through LähiTapiola, and a browser-based membership card. The association co-publishes Nuorisotyö magazine with Suomen Nuorisoseurat and offers study grants and scholarships.
