The Finnish Kennel Club brings together dog owners, breeders and dog hobbyists. It works to promote dog health and welfare, responsible breeding rules and open health data. Its services include the Jalostustietojärjestelmä breeding information system and the Omakoira dog registration services, along with dog health studies and breed-specific tools such as JTO, the breeding objective programme, and PEVISA.
The club organises the Koiramessut dog fairs and publishes the Koiramme magazine. Member benefits, courses and seminars, a puppy list and a dog museum, Suomen Koiramuseo, are on offer. Its website also provides guidance on genetic diversity, inbreeding and breeding coefficients. The car park and entrance are wheelchair accessible.
