Established in 2009 by 38 water-sector organisations, the association brings together companies, research and education institutions, ministries and NGOs. It promotes the international growth of Finnish water expertise and has more than 130 members according to its website.
Membership is open to Finnish organisations working in or interested in the water sector. Activities take place through thematic and regional working groups and joint projects. The association surveys needs abroad and introduces companies to local partners. Its twelve-member board is elected for two-year terms.
