This umbrella organisation brings together Helsinki's neighbourhood associations, supports their work and issues statements on planning matters. It runs Kotikatu, a support site for member associations' websites, produces material for neighbourhood activists and on the cultural environment, such as Vanhaa Helsinkiä kuvissa (Old Helsinki in Pictures), and has compiled Kotikaupunkipolku walking routes for exploring your own neighbourhood.
It also awards merit badges and an Act of the Year recognition, and publishes newsletters, publications and a blog. Membership is handled through its website, which also has a brief introduction in English. It is an organisation rather than a place to visit.
