Founded in 1967, the patient association supports people with kidney and liver conditions, transplant recipients and relatives in the HUS hospital district. Trained volunteers provide peer support, and experience experts speak at training events. Activities include outings, recreation and local groups.
Members can rent a holiday apartment in Joutsa and apply for exercise and medical-cost grants. The association publishes a quarterly members' magazine and advocates for access to care. Materials are available in Finnish and Swedish.
