With roots dating to 1945, this artists' association runs Taidekeskus Ahjo, where exhibitions change roughly every three weeks. It also stages exhibitions in the Sokos window gallery and the main library wall gallery, and jointly maintains a printmaking workshop with the city's cultural services. Since 2023 it has run the 600 m² Näyttelykeskus Kitee exhibition space too.
Finnish art can be borrowed or bought through the art lending service, with works displayed in its online shop. Artists, hobbyists and organisations can become members. The office is upstairs at Ahjo. Accessible parking and a wheelchair-accessible toilet are available.
