Lilja and Olavi Sallinen opened this car museum in spring 1983 in the Vehoniemenharju nature reserve in Kangasala, and today it is run by their daughter Leila and granddaughter Pauliina Suutarinen. Alongside the family's own vehicles are cars from enthusiasts, clubs and other collections, with displays changing often. True to Olavi's motto that cars are made to be driven, the vehicles are still roadworthy.
Entry to the exhibition is free, and a visit usually takes 20 to 45 minutes. There is also a café, a shop and an observation tower. Guided tours for groups should be booked in advance. The premises are step-free, a wheelchair and a rollator can be borrowed, and parking is free.
