Founded in 1949, the hunting and fishing club has about 330 members. Its sections cover shooting, fishing, hunting dogs, property, land leasing, women's activities, game management and youth work. It runs shooting practice and shooting and fishing competitions, and manages game and fishing waters.
Its three moose hunting teams have their own rules; joining requires two years of membership and active participation. Moose meat is sold to members. The club manages hunting and fishing areas, including land leased from the city, and promotes sustainable use of natural resources.
