The association was founded in 1999 as an umbrella body for floorball referees in the Päijät-Häme region. Its purpose is to promote and maintain local refereeing, popularise floorball and provide referee services to teams and organisations. It is a member association of the Finnish Floorball Federation.
Over 50 trained referees officiate single matches, tournaments, practice games and the local Kortteliliiga. Referees are booked through an online form, and every match has two referees for safety reasons. Larger events can get a full package including referees, officials, venues, results service, prizes and catering. Fees are hourly and depend on the league level of the teams.
