Founded in 1944, the foundation supports children's and youth activities in the former Vakka-Suomi area. Sports clubs have received grants since its beginnings, with scouting organisations becoming recipients later. It also awards scholarships to school graduates.
Grant applications are submitted through an online service during the annual application period. The foundation was established when the local civil guard district was dissolved and took over its property. In 1994 it published a history of local civil guard and Lotta organisations.
