Founded in 1895, this Swedish-language private school in Tampere is run by an association. It teaches grades 1 to 9 and upper secondary (gymnasium), with over 300 pupils, 28 teachers and 14 other staff. Svenska barndaghemmet i Tammerfors, a day-care centre with preschool, is in the same block.
Its stated aim is to raise well-rounded, independent and socially mature young people with strong roots in Finland-Swedish culture and an international outlook. Creativity, entrepreneurship and responsibility for society and the environment are emphasised. Timetables are in Wilma, and the website is in Swedish.
