This Tampere school building is where pre-school and grades 1 to 6 are taught. On 1 August 2018 two schools merged into Hatanpää School, a single comprehensive school for grades 0 to 9 with three units: this building, the Hatanpää unit for grades 7 to 9 and the Talvitie unit for grades 1 and 2. A deputy head runs this building. The school's stated values are safety, respect for others and goal-oriented learning.
Before- and after-school activities, a school nurse and special needs education are available. The school takes part in the Finnish Schools on the Move and KiVa anti-bullying programmes, and has a wind band and a parents' association.
