In the Vapriikki museum centre in Tampere, these exhibitions trace postal and communication history from the 1600s to today. The first-floor main exhibition, Postia ja bitteja (Post and Bits), tells the story of Finnish communication and the postal service. The museum's collections of objects, stamps, photos and archives, plus a library, are searchable on Finna.fi.
There are guided tours and programmes for children and young people, and an ask-the-experts service answers questions on postal history, stamps or postcards by email. The Museokortti pass is accepted. The entrance, toilets, seating and parking are accessible, and there is an induction loop, a baby-care room, Wi-Fi and a restaurant.
