This Tampere neighbourhood restaurant opened in March 1965 in a former shop space, founded by confectionery master Jussi Linkosuo, and its site calls it one of Finland's early beer-restaurant experiments. The house classic, dating from the early years, is the Puerto Ricon Pannu. The food is traditional Finnish, made in-house from start to finish.
The space seats 65 across the bar and dining room, with a back-yard terrace in summer. Tables can be booked online. On the first Friday of the month there is a steak night, for which booking ahead is advised. Children have their own menu and high chairs, and dogs are welcome on the pub side. The entrance is not step-free.
