Founded in 1979, this Tampere-based association supports people who have had a stroke, and their families, in rehabilitation and everyday life, and works to prevent loneliness and social exclusion. It has about 550 members and local clubs around the Pirkanmaa region, including Nokia, Kangasala and Ylöjärvi. Since 2026 its umbrella body has been the Finnish Brain Injury Association.
Hobby groups include exercise, boccia, crafts and creative dance-based movement. There are peer support groups for families and for people with progressive non-fluent aphasia, plus a group for people of working age. The association also offers advice and guidance, and you can take part remotely.
