Owned and maintained by the Tampere Workers' Association (Tampereen Työväenyhdistys ry), this building is described as Finland's first stone-built workers' hall. It was inaugurated on 18 November 1900 and has been extended several times since, and today the eight-storey building is a cultural centre in the heart of Tampere.
It hosts meetings, association activities and cultural events, and Tampere Workers' Theatre is right next door. The building stands on the edge of Hämeenpuisto park. The parking area and entrance are wheelchair accessible, and cards are accepted.
