Founded in 1962, the national specialist museum collects objects, photographs and documents spanning the history of Finnish scouting. It is run by a volunteer association. A permanent exhibition space opened at the Scout Centre in 2005, and temporary displays have appeared at scouting events and camps since 1988.
Guided group visits are arranged by email. Membership of the museum association is open by application, and donations and bequests are accepted. A wheelchair-accessible toilet is available.
