This zoological museum of the University of Turku looks after the second-largest natural history collections in Finland. They hold some four million specimens from the late 18th century to the present, and the museum also cares for the collections of Åbo Akademi University. Most of the early material was lost in the Great Fire of Turku in 1827. On display are tropical arthropods and large rainforest wasps, and a historical exhibition presents early 19th-century collections.
The exhibitions are in the university's Natura building. Individual visitors and groups are both welcome, and groups are asked to get in touch in advance.
