This association is for people with acoustic neuroma and their relatives, and it provides information on the condition, its symptoms and treatment. Peer support is available through a peer support phone line, and members can also have a personal peer support contact. The association organises regional meetings, courses and an annual general meeting, and publishes a patient guide.
People with acoustic neuroma can join as members, which supports the association's work. Its website also covers NF2 (neurofibromatosis type 2). It explains sign language interpreting services, including live captioning, for hearing loss caused by acoustic neuroma, and how to apply for them through Kela, the Finnish Social Insurance Institution. Interpreting is offered in Finnish and Swedish sign language, as speech-supported interpreting and as captioning.
