This registered association takes in injured, sick or orphaned hedgehogs found in Pohjanmaa and releases them back into the wild. Its work covers rescue, veterinary examination and treatment in cooperation with a local animal clinic, rehabilitation in outdoor enclosures and release into suitable habitats. One of the co-founders, a licensed veterinarian, supervises the medical care and rehabilitation protocols.
The association is non-profit and run by volunteers. It does not collect money from the public and has no fundraising permit. New volunteers are accepted, and it gives guidance on hedgehog nests and hedgehog-safe gardens. It also visits schools and shares information with the community.
