The umbrella organisation for more than 500 local youth societies offers hobbies and community activities for children, young people and adults. Its roots go back to 1881, when the first society was founded in Kauhava. It is organised into regional and national federations.
Member services include a membership register, online shop and activity calendar. The organisation operates a youth society museum in Laihia and a digital museum, and publishes the Yhteisön voima history series about the movement.
