Founded in 1971, this is one of Finland's oldest group-based theatres. It has a permanent acting ensemble and works regularly with guest artists. The repertoire includes new Finnish drama as well as international classics, musical theatre, comedy and tragedy. It also produces concerts and records and has toured internationally. The community art project Taiteen juhlaa is aimed at older residents.
The new venue is fully accessible. Hakaniemi is a transport hub reachable by metro, tram, bus and car. A lounge bar is open to the public before performances. The KOMin ystävät newsletter shares programme information and ticket offers. The entrance, toilet, car park and seating are wheelchair accessible, and a hearing loop is available.
