This unit of HUS Helsinki University Hospital specialises in orthopaedics, traumatology, hand surgery and neurosurgery. It also has neurology, head and neck surgery and cancer wards, intensive care, day surgery and outpatient clinics. The emergency department treats acute illness and injuries in patients over 16, as well as urgent mental health problems.
First visits to the orthopaedic, trauma, neurosurgery and oral surgery outpatient clinics require a referral, but routine X-rays need no appointment. The emergency entrance is on the Paciuksenkatu side. There is a lobby café, a pharmacy open to everyone and a restaurant. Parking and the entrance are wheelchair accessible.
