This HUS emergency department at Bridge Hospital in Helsinki treats sudden illnesses and injuries in patients over 16, as well as urgent mental health problems; under-16s go to a separate children's emergency service. Helsinki residents over 16 can get urgent psychiatric first aid around the clock, and life-threatening cases are seen wherever the patient lives.
No appointment is needed. For non-urgent problems, use the Omaolo online symptom checker or contact your health centre on weekdays, and at other times call the emergency advice line first. Patients are seen in order of urgency, and an online crowd meter shows the estimated length of a visit. The entrance and car park are accessible.
