Founded in 2001, the non-profit foundation supports people who have committed crimes and their relatives. Help covers the period before a prison sentence, imprisonment and release, including finding housing. Its historical roots reach back to the Finnish Prison Association founded in 1869.
Relatives can receive guidance on family and partner relationships, with materials for children and young people whose parent is in prison. The foundation publishes professional guides, coordinates development networks and contributes to debate on rehabilitation-oriented criminal policy.
