The registered association promotes Somali participation and integration in Finnish society and raises awareness of Somali culture. It contributes to public debate and holds panels and events on issues such as youth exclusion and community support.
The SAMANU project aims to prevent gang involvement among young Somali-Finns aged 13–29. The website lists research and reports on Somali-Finns, Somalia and human rights. Communication is mainly in Finnish, with some Somali and English content. Members have an annual spring meeting.
