Child welfare services include short- and long-term substitute care, aftercare and professional support-person work. The units have 21 substitute care places in total. At the basic-level Päivilä unit each child has a private room, with shared facilities including a games room and sauna. Taimela also has a home cinema and fenced yard.
Services are provided with the client's social worker. Support focuses on young people's participation, housing and life management skills and a trusting relationship with the worker. A meeting room is available for network meetings and training.
