Founded in 1985, the non-profit association offers housing, employment and training activities and directs people towards suitable support. It operates from Toivontalo. A history covering 1985–2015 was written by Sari Mantere.
Food donations support its food aid activities, and clothing is collected for people in need. Furniture is accepted for restoration. People can volunteer, become supporting members or help through social sponsorship.
