Founded in 1886, this City of Tampere comprehensive school calls itself a village school, familiar and safe. Teaching emphasises reading, digital skills and community, and pupils learn to work actively both on their own and together. Lessons take place in a white three-storey old stone building, two wooden buildings and an annex.
The main door opens automatically with a push button but is hard to spot. The lift fits a wheelchair, works with an access key and has tactile floor numbers. The accessible toilet is on floor 3, though its door is hard to open and grab bars are missing on one or both sides. The accessible parking space is more than 10 m from the main door.
