Finland's first cat café was founded in Tampere in 2014, and its cats won the Vuoden Tamperelaisuus (Tampere Spirit of the Year) award in 2015 and 2017. The space is furnished with the cats in mind, while keeping visitors comfortable. The menu has savoury and sweet items, and a speciality is Kopi Luwak coffee, made from beans that have passed through wild civets. A shop sells cat-themed jewellery and other items to take home.
The cats are most active just after waking and in the evening, closer to closing time. Cat christening parties and other private celebrations are booked by phone or email. The seating, entrance and parking are accessible, and cards and mobile payments are accepted.
