This Turku comprehensive school has about 900 pupils in grades 1–9. It was founded in 1882 as a Finnish-language girls' lyceum and has been co-educational since 1974. The lower school has offered Swedish immersion since 1994 and art classes since the 1990s, and the upper school has a sports class run with the Finnish Olympic Committee and the Turku regional sports academy.
The lower school has two units, while the upper school shares buildings with an upper secondary school and also uses YMCA premises. Emphasis classes have a separate entrance test, and from grade 4 pupils can choose Swedish or German as an optional A2 language. The school runs exchanges with Japan and Italy.
