Designed by Alvar and Aino Aalto in 1937, this Helsinki restaurant sits on the eighth floor beside the Esplanadi park, with terraces on three sides of the dining room. The interior was renovated in the early 2020s with Artek, the Helsinki City Museum and the Alvar Aalto Foundation, designed by Ilse Crawford's Studioilse. Chef Patron Helena Puolakka's Finnish-French kitchen uses game, fish, wild mushrooms and berries, with classics such as Mannerheim's pike-perch, fried Baltic herring and vorschmack.
The wine cellar is among the largest in Finland, and honey from the rooftop hives is jarred in autumn. Tables are booked online, and private dining is on the seventh floor. Access is step-free.
