Serving since 1978, the market-square cafe sells coffee, baked goods and sweet and savoury lörtsy, a flat filled fried pastry. The range includes pies, rye and speciality breads and house-recipe fish and meat pastries known as kukko. Ingredients include Lake Puruvesi vendace and flour from Kiteen Mylly.
The market sales point operates from June to August. Vegetarian and gluten-free kukko are available on request. Most bakery goods are lactose-free, with dairy-free and vegan products marked. The entrance and accessible seating cater for wheelchair users.
