About 500 pupils in grades 7 to 9 study in this building of a Tampere comprehensive school, which has about 1,050 pupils and 130 staff across four buildings. Pupils from Koivistonen and Peltolammi continue here from grade 7. A sports-oriented programme, Kasva urheilijaksi (Grow into an athlete), runs jointly with the Sampo and Tesoma schools, and the school also has regional special classes and preparatory teaching for immigrant pupils.
There is step-free access from the car park to the main door, which opens easily by hand, though thresholds are over 2 cm high. The three-storey building has a lift that fits a wheelchair but works only with an access card.
