Founder Jinder Singh works in the kitchen of this Tampere Indian restaurant every day. He began his career in Indian cooking in Helsinki in 1980, and in 1987 he and Uma opened their first place of their own there. In Tampere, Uma's Takeaway opened in January 2001 and this restaurant followed that December; it has been in its current premises since 2012.
The kitchen has a tandoori oven, and dishes include chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. The menu is divided into lunch, vegetarian, chicken, lamb and seafood dishes, sides and drinks. Tables can be booked in advance, and the website is in Finnish and English.
