This unit of a City of Turku comprehensive teaches grades 1 and 2 and also provides preparatory education (valmo) for pupils who have recently moved to Finland. The comprehensive has three units covering grades 1 to 9, and daily life includes physical activity, reading projects, buddy activities and clubs, with pupils having a say through the student council and a pupil parliament.
Morning and afternoon activities are organised for pupils, and a nurse, counsellors and psychologists provide support. Places are allocated by home address under Turku's admission rules, with enrolment instructions on the website. Families keep in touch with staff through Wilma, and the entrance is step-free.
