This regional branch of a child welfare organisation has worked for the wellbeing of children, young people and families in Southwest Finland since 1950, and its office is in Turku at the Perhetalo Heideken family house. Its work includes dozens of family cafés, family living rooms, Perhekummi family support and a friend programme for children and young people, as well as peer support pupils in schools, Swedish-language youth activities and help for immigrants, such as finding a Finnish-speaking friend.
The branch trains professionals and parents, and volunteers start with free training. Anyone can join, with fees set by each local association. The car park and entrance are step-free.
